Norah McVeigh

Senior Vice President

Norah McVeigh, Senior Vice President, joined TDC in 2023. Norah has a passion for ensuring communities have an ecosystem of stable and sustainable nonprofit organizations to support their aspirations and evolving priorities.

She spent the first part of her career working in international development spending several years in Nicaragua and Ecuador supporting community-based organizations before shifting her focus to issues facing communities in the United States. With an interest in ensuring nonprofits have access to necessary capital, she has worked for more than 30 years with Community Development Financial Intermediaries (CDFIs).

Most of that time was at Nonprofit Finance Fund, the only national CDFI exclusively dedicated to the nonprofit sector, which provides a suite of consulting, financing, and advocacy services to strengthen the sector’s financial health and sustainability. Clients include arts and culture, education, health, human services, and housing organizations, among others. As Managing Director, she led the financing business and was responsible for all its key performance and impact drivers including strategy; staffing; credit policies and processes; product development; capitalization; systems; and financial results. Under her leadership the financing portfolio grew from $3.5 million invested in 30 New York City organizations to $410 million invested in 290 organizations across 26 states; the business’s contribution to total enterprise revenue increased from 27% to 54%; and the addition of new products deepened its impact. As part of the executive team, she participated in enterprise-level strategy development, multi-year and annual planning and budgeting, and policy decisions. She helped position the organization to be responsive to changing community needs by designing and overseeing landscape studies and market assessments, and cultivating and maintaining a network of stakeholders and industry leaders in the nonprofit, philanthropic, community finance, and impact investing fields, resulting in a steady pipeline and new partnerships.

Prior to NFF she held positions at Housing Development Fund, International Voluntary Services, and NC REAL Enterprises. She currently sits on program and credit committees of Citibank, Corporation for Supportive Housing and Blue Hub Capital.

She has a BS from Georgetown University and an MPPM from Yale University.
